  • I am a software engineer, I program, maintain and otherwise am involved in the upkeep of various projects linked to Newcastle Building Society/Newcastle Strategic Solutions. I work in an Agile Sprint format with fortnightly sprints

  • Yes, my functional skills, technical skills, knowledge, communication skills, understanding of work in an official environment and overall development has been positive throughout the duration of my apprenticeship.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I find it very enjoyable, the courses are interesting and not redundant, training providers are amiable and friendly, and I enjoy my job role considerably.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Well structured, the overall foundation of the course is made clear from the beginning, and the process for courses, assignments and otherwise is all structured and well organised.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • It varied as I moved teams and line managers throughout my course, my current team and line manager are nothing but supportive and friendly however, a huge help when it comes to achieving the ambitions set out in my apprenticeship

  • A considerable amount, frequent check-ins, communication, courses, advice and feedback are provided, helping me throughout my apprenticeship.

  • Considerably, the knowledge and skills I gained are helpful, and I believe the qualification will improve my career greatly in time.

  • There are various activities such as volunteering and social activities.

  • Yes

  • They greatly value and respect their employees, have great fundamental values and respect both customers and employees alike, I believe they are an exceptional organisation to work for.

  • Be honest in your qualification and skills, NBS are open and willing to accept those new to their industries and guide them through the process of beginning to work.
