Security Analyst involved in threat monitoring mainly. Receiving, investigating and actioning cyber security incidents using SIEM systems. Escalating incidents where required to ensure corrective action taken to minimise likelihood of compromise.
Yes developed a deeper understanding of concepts and techniques for mitigating cyber threats as well as getting hands on experience using SIEM tools like Microsoft Sentinel.
Thoroughly enjoying the programme so far, enjoying learning and getting a more technical involvement in the cyber security space.
Programme has been well structured so far, learning material has been great although could've done with more of a structure layout for getting started initially.
Employer has been brilliant and has had no issues with providing me time and support for ensuring I have adequate space for my studies.
Haven't had much experience of this yet as still quite early but no complaints at all with service and support I have received.
Initially had a bit of a disconnect between theory and practical side of role as it was new to me so on top of the studies I had a new team and new tools etc to get familiar with but now that I am getting more comfortable with those the learning is definitely starting to pay off.
Yea the company regularly has events and activities that they actively encourage all to take part in.
Yes
Great company to work for with many opportunities available and a great team of staff that want to see you succeed.
Be honest and upfront about what you are looking for and hope to achieve and don't be afraid to put yourself forward as the opportunities are there to progress is you so wish.
