  • My role involves the production of food in the kitchen aiding fellow team members and following the necessary rules of law and legislation to keep myself and colleagues safe. And also the customers it’s important to recall all legislation set out in order to do thinks correctly and safely

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many new skills for example how to operate a fryer, slicing different kinds of vegetables and the cooking of raw meat and the knowledge to know what is safe to to serve and what is not. I have also learned all of the correct ways of turning on and off the equipment in the kitchen

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme a lot, it has given me the opportunity to engage in new experiences and continues to teach me new things everyday, carving out future career options . It gives me a good idea of the future available to me once I finish my apprenticeship and potential career goals

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The program is well organised and structured with support to give me step by step instructions on how best to go about the apprenticeship and complete the necessary work to do. It also allows me to complete it at my own pace which is an extremely useful learning tactic for me

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive great support from my employer and more than satisfactory support resources, ranging from instructional help with tasks to safeguarding, my employer works hard to ensure my safety and well-being making sure to follow all of the necessary laws and legislation set out by the government of the United Kingdom.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive a lot of support from my provider, reminding me of my work and my role and always happy to help and show me what I need to do. And also helping me with any problems I have in or outside of work overall a really useful and welcome resource

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My provider has given me access to new resources previously unavailable and which gives me knowledge making my work easier and more efficient not only advancing me but my colleagues performance as things run smoother in the kitchen overall helping the business to thrive and earn more money and a better reputation

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are events such as macmillan cancer support and an annual staff party held to help develop a personal working relationship with co workers and also help build a relationship with the local community helping to build a loyal customer base for greene and king to profit from as a whole

  • Yes

  • Because of the flexible hours and friendly working conditions and the skills available to learn at the Green and king business it also has a wealth of resources and benefits available such as discounts at businesses in the chain and beyond that will financially benefit it employed persons at greene king


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Greene King?
  • To uphold the British values and make a good impression and have good work ethic and kindness. It’s also important to have a good employment history and track record, however greene king is a very open and welcoming brand willing to hire people of any background and in need of a second chance
