  • Managing a team of investigators who conduct engagement and enforcement visits to food service establishments. Reviewing cases and taking legal action if required. Reviewing polices and processes to ensure they are efficient.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Managing self in terms of personal development and emotional intelligence. Communication skills both verbal and written have increased significantly. Learned various methods for problem solving, decision making, and project planning.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have thoroughly enjoyed the programme which was not what i expected in terms of the amount of work involved. My personal tutor has been excellent and provided me with all the support needed for each subject area.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Overall the structure has been good, many of the topics overlap as do some of the essay questions. I do feel that the seminars do not always cover all the topic areas for that particular subject and only touch the surface, i appreciate that some topics are very large.

  • My employer has been excellent in supporting me through the program.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • As mentioned already my personal tutor has been excellent, he has supported me to achieve the required level for each topic area.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Understanding many areas of business operations has made me more confident and enabled me to identify and embed new ideas. I now feel that I possess good all round knowledge regarding operational management.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are some extra curricular activities but these are mainly at our head office which is too far to travel. We do however conduct numerous activities at a department level.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I have found Thames to be inclusive, fair, passionate, and professional despite the constant pressures around performance issues. Personal welfare in addition to health and safety is taken very seriously. Overall I love working for the company.

  • Read the values and behaviours of the company and ensure that they adhere to your personal values.
