My role requires me to forecast the number of agents we need for our call centres and businesses within Pearson using historical data. My responsibilities entail that I talk to our stakeholders to ask them of any changes that may impact the data for future analysis. Also, presenting my findings for stakeholders.
I have learnt, python, pandas, time series, and sql. The skills i have developed are statistical, mathematics, data management, and data visualisation.
As someone with a thirst for knowledge, I enjoy this programme a lot. The programme was very well though out, taking into account the learning pace, and constantly challenges me. There is constant help and resources if apprentices feel they need more help.
It is very organised from the start when we have our induction. As we do have projects they work to deliver the systematic requirements and knowledge before we combat it, as well as make sure we are constantly aware of when our EPA is so that we are on track.
I receive support from my employer through different avenues. This is through my work mentor and manager who helps me to in cooperate what I have learned to our systems for my projects. Also, I have the assistance of our tech team to help me understand python, sql and pandas more.
I receive a lot of support from my training provider when working towards my qualifications by going to my cohort lessons, after lesson tasks and self learning, talking to my mentors and also they have drop in sessions where we can go to if we do not fully understand a lesson and get further help.
This qualification helps me perform my role better by allowing me to compare the different systems I am being taught to the one that my current company uses. For example if Excel is more useful than Tableau. Also, It allows me to automate my role more to capture more data by not having to open a lot of different data sources.
There are a lot of activities to get involved at my work. However, as I am working remotely I find it hard to get involved with my team however there are more apprentices within Manchester in our business that are looking to have more social events that do involve sports and networking, that I will get involved in.
Yes
Pearson has helped me with my career change into technology and workforce management. They are constantly making sure that you feel take care of, and give you the resources you need, which is helpful since they are an educational company. However, due to the fact that Pearson as a business they have multiple business within itself, there is always room for progression within the company, which apprenticeships can help you with.
Be eager and ready to learn and to meet a lot of friendly and helpful faces.
