Shadowing qualified technicians during their day-to-day role.
Learnt practical skills from replacing track motors, to designing new equipment parts using 3D printers.
I enjoyed the programme as it allowed experience of a range of departments in a running production facility.
The programme has a sense of structure but can be easily changed to suit the desires of an apprentice.
Plenty of support is offered by the employer, regarding studies towards qualifications or on-site work.
At least one day is provided every week for studies.
Some subjects are relevant but majority do not directly apply.
Departments can organise social events.
