  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Agree nor Disagree - Very good experience when moving placements every 6 months because it allows the opportunity to develop new skills and experiences, and find out what I like and don't like doing. Sometimes treated like being back in school, different rules and treatment amongst different units.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It's ok - college days and assignment deadlines are well structured and clearly organised. However, some areas can be very poor and structured badly. Documents needed for End Point Assessment became confusing because of miscommunication and not explained well. Approaching different skills coaches meant that information differed massively!

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Quiet a lot of support received from BAE as a company - e.g. providing skills coaches to support with college and placements. Some placement managers I had were very poor and I felt very unsupported - they made me feel excluded, not involved with the team, and under valued!!

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Not much support received from Pearson - usually pass information onto our skills coaches who deliver it to us apprentices. The skills coaches are the most supportive when it comes to qualifications and ensuring we successfully pass

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Doesn't help me much in performing better because the qualification I get won't have much of an impact. I am working towards a Level 3 Business Admin qualification but that won't help me perform better in my role or have an impact like a degree would

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Team night outs, Team sports days, STEM events

  • 9a. Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Great opportunities for career progression, constantly growing personally and professionally, competitive salary, good pension

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • Learn about the business and what they do, look at the role profile you are applying for and link experience to that, and contact people you know in the business to find out more information - utilising contacts
