  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Auditing pension schemes, leasing with clients/remote workers/remote service delivery centres. Produced audit evidence work in which we were documenting evidence we had received from third parties and experts to evidence that the numbers in the financial statements that the client publishes are true and fair. Working in the manchester office I got to speak to many levels of auditors including directors and partners

  • Yes - I've deepend my knowledge and technical ability surrounding the use of Microsoft Excel. • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Well organised in general - we were the first year in Manchester and there was a few bumps in the road given this but however I am aware that these have been ironed out for lower years. The transition to work is smooth and communication with lecturers is constant throughout the placements.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A lot of support and continuous professional development, we conduct a lot of training before being put on client work. We are well supported throughout our work placement, with frequent career coach meetings to make sure we're settling in well. There was both horizontal and downward support from peers and higher-ups. Good culture.

  • Whilst away at placement we are in frequent contact with our university colleagues.
