As a QA Lead, My role ensures that our software(mobile apps and website) meets the required standards before it is released to production (or to our customers!). This involves overseeing the work of other QA engineers, designing test strategies, and ensuring effective implementation of testing processes. Day to day, I Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers, Allocate tasks and manage workload distribution among team members, Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback. Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and test cases. Define the scope and objectives of testing activities. Ensure alignment of the testing strategy with project goals and requirements. Establish and maintain QA processes, standards, and best practices. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Implement and oversee the use of QA tools and frameworks. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, product management, and operations. Participate in project meetings and provide QA insights. Identify, document, and track defects and issues. Collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution of defects. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions. Promote and implement test automation where applicable. Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
Over the past year, I have gained invaluable insights and skills through the program. I've developed a deeper understanding of my personal traits, including how others perceive me, and have identified my strengths and weaknesses. The program has significantly enhanced my time management skills, meeting preparation, and meeting facilitation strategies. My communication abilities have improved, allowing me to build stronger relationships with colleagues and stakeholders. I have also become more aware of unconscious biases and how they influence my thinking. Additionally, I have learned effective problem-solving techniques, conflict resolution strategies, and stakeholder management practices. Overall, this experience has been incredibly enriching, equipping me with tools to maximize productivity and effectiveness in my daily activities.
I truly enjoy this program as there is so much to learn. The delivery is excellent, allowing me to participate at times that fit my schedule. There are numerous opportunities to connect with others in the course, and plenty of additional resources to continue reading and learning beyond the main content.
The course is exceptionally well-structured, with set modules to complete each month and a helpful system to ensure I stay on track. I particularly enjoy meeting with my coach, who provides invaluable support and guidance, especially when I need help catching up if I fall behind.
My employer is highly supportive, and many colleagues in my organization are also taking the course. We have our own meetups to discuss the content and share learning strategies. My manager is particularly supportive, assisting me in seeking out opportunities to advance my missions.
