I help my co-workers with tasks or take on my own jobs welding and fabricating parts for vans or Lorrie’s this can also include parts for another workshop like break rollers, benches or gas bottle cages
I’ve learnt lots of new skills including welding grinding, health and safety, house keeping in the workshop I’ve also built in skills like drilling and cutting material. I have also learnt a lot about the trade on general how things are done/ common and safe practices
I enjoy the challenge of a new task which i have to put my mind to it to figure out a solution and be able to make it happen, it can be tough work when big jobs come in however co-workers keep spirits high
At work it is structured very well however at collage it’s very pour, teachers leaving regularly half way through a unit schedules being mixed up tasks being mixed up and overall not greatly managed at collage
From my employer i have revived plenty of support with the challenges i have faced during my time working for them and they have given me plenty of time to adapt to new circumstances
I have recived good support working towards my qualifications however nothing excellent to say but definitely meets the criteria
They have taught me a few things that have come handy in the workshop and a few more management things that help me understand the running of the workshop and how it’s done
I believe there are for other roles like management staff or people in the offices however during the time I’ve been here no such thing has been organised for Workshop staff
Yes
They treat their employees fairly well and pay decent money for the rolls and it is a very friendly environment to work in
I’m not sure this was my first full time job so i don’t have anything to compare it to really
