I work as a deputy manager for a residential children’s home. My role is to ensure the children are safeguarded, supported and cared for. I ensure the support works understand their role and complete it to their highest ability
I have learnt how to be more confident during conflict within the home, I have learnt to delegate more with tasks
I have enjoyed it a lot because it has taught me to view my role from the perspective of a registered manager which I aim to be in the next few months
I feel it is structured well. I have a great tutor (Peter foot) who is very supportive
I receive a lot of support from my employer
I have received a lot. If I have any questions or am unsure about something I know I can contact him and I will hear back from him regularly
It has helped me to view my role from another perspective
I go on training courses when they become available
