  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • *manage a team * plan for future investment needs * work with regulators

    9/10

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes. More about myself and coaching theory.

    8/10

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Learning is good and actual coaching sessions with coachees are challenging at first as I'm new to the skills but getting better as I gain experience.

    8/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Could be improved by seeing the full structure and plan of the learning at the beginning. Several times useful information has come too late. There's a disconnect between the trainer delivering the theoretical workshops and the tutor I work individually with.

    7/10

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Support is time to complete some of the assigned work in office hours. Culturally we still need to adopt coaching and see the benefits.

    7/10

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Difficult to say. There are workshops and I have a separate tutor - as mentioned before there's a disconnect.

    6/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I can apply what I'm learning and use the development areas from my PDP.

    8/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • No.

    5/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend South East Water to a friend?
  • No

  • 9b. Why?
  • Structure is disjointed and there's little explanation of next steps. Bud platform can be clunky. Apprenticeship providers don't seem to understand that we the clients are working a full time job too. Mismatch between apprenticeship provider/our HR dept expectations/real world of work.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to South East Water?
  • Think carefully and ask those with experience.
