Yes in the previous 9 months, i have learnt basic skills that allows us to use basic hand tools within engineering. On top of this, it allowed me to develop my existing knowledge. As it allowed me to develop my techniques that i am going to be using throughout my career.
The programme is excellent at building your knowledge within Engineering. As the college side of the course allows me to understand how to carry over my knowledge from the college course into the workplace.
The programme is well structured. As it allows us to go to college for two days a week. And for three days a week we go into our workplace and learn the necessary skills. it gives a good balance between the academic side of the course.
We have a lot of support available from our employer. As all tools that we use are provided by the employer, as well as any extra PPE that we feel like we need. The college also bring in assessors to our workplace, to review our academic side of the course and offer any help needed.
When working towards our qualifications. Our training provider come into our workplace for one to one sessions to talk over what needs to be completed and what is going well. As we talk through write ups and how these can be improved.
My qualification will help me transfer my academic skills into my workplace experience. As these academic skills allow me to understand certain tasks correctly and understand why.
Yes there have been extra - curricular activities at work available. As in past our employer has volunteered several of us to complete volunteering. This involves helping local communities and the environment. As we have completed activities to help improve the local wildlife, such as planting trees.
