Varies from day to day, college is 5 days a week from 9am to 4pm. Ranges from workshop skills, electrical and academic subjects on BTEC day such as Maths and theory based subjects.
Lots of new skills. Prior to the job I had zero experience and now gained a much greater understanding of the subjects as well as my place in the workplace.
On the day to day it’s fairly enjoyable but there are communication issues and a lack of structure that hinders the experience and learning potential massively.
Sometimes we are missing entire timetables until the week we start as well as undefined finishing and ending time.
Support from the employer is great with weekly messages and visits to see how we are doing.
Opinions are mixed as it varies from tutor to tutor but overall most give structured lessons and teaching supports.
Yet to be determined but it’s given me a much better understanding of the practically involved.
Not looked into it left experience in the middle.
