  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work within the service desk in a second line role supporting our client National Highways. I help fulfill requests which can be anything from creating accounts to distributing software. I also assist with 'incidents' which are raised by first line but couldn't be resolved at that time. These can be very varied and give a chance to learn lots of new skills.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt new skills in regards to Azure, I had not worked within this environment previously. I have managed accounts and devices as well as shared mailboxes. I have learnt new problem solving skills when it comes to finding the route cause of incidents.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Joining the apprenticeship is the best move that I have made in my career for some time. I am enjoying the coursework and am excited for the journey ahead. I am enjoying developing and learning new skills.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is well structured. QA use the bud platform which is easy to use. It is clear to see what work is scheduled and for when.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I am very happy with the support that I have received from my employer. They always ensure that I have the correct time allocated for my apprenticeship work. For a piece of coursework I needed to collaborate with another team, my operations manager helped me organise this. My employer has dedicated apprentice managers.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I only started my coursework in March this year however, when I have submitted work I have received helpful feedback each time.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I only started my apprenticeship in March this year but I have learned a few problem solving techniques for example which I can use within my role. I'm confident that as my course progresses I will learn more skills to allow me to perform better in my role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • When I started my apprenticeship in March there was a launch week with events and activities in the evenings. I believe that there will be a few meetings and activities throughout the year

  • 9a. Would you recommend Capgemini to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Capgemini are willing to invest in their people. I have enrolled in a four year apprenticeship and feel supported in this. I am given time to carry out my coursework. I have an apprentice manager who I can go to for support if I need it.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Capgemini?
  • I would advise if you want to progress in your career then to ask what opportunities are available. Capgemini have pathways to progress your career
