I am a business analyst, this involves stakeholder engagement, requirements elicitation and user story refinement
Every skill in my field has been developed as part of my apprenticeship, through the job, degree and courses supplied by the company
Its hard work but I enjoy it
From Capgemini side, extremely structured and well organised. Aston university not so much
A lot of support, there is always someone to go to with any issues or areas of interest. They genuinely want to you to diversify and progress
I was not impressed with the organisation, communication or flexibility at Aston university,
The qualification was not always the most up to date/ genuinely reflective of how the topics are used in a work context but in terms of theory and academics it helped a lot
Yes a lot
Yes
If you are interested in a career in a firm like Capgemini this is perfect for you. You move around projects which is great for getting a range of experience and there is always opportunities to learn new skills and qualifications
You get out what you put in. If you volunteer, get involved and work hard you will get a lot of support and opportunities. Its by no means an easy course but I could not be happier with my career progression from joining as a 19 year old with little to no experience in the industry
