My role involves working with experienced engineers, to test electronic assemblies which our company produces. I carry out different types of testing such as ATP and ESS.
I have developed my practical hand skills while completing a PEO in Engineering Operations. I am currently working towards gaining an SVQ Level 3 which has allowed me to further my engineering knowledge. I have sat several internal training courses such as ESD awareness and LN2 awareness sessions.
I enjoy working within the team that I am currently placed in. The work is enjoyable and challenging at times. The company has a good work culture which I enjoy being part of.
I feel very appreciated by the company. My manager appreciates the work I do and this is shown through rewards such as shopping vouchers. One task I was involved in which I felt appreciated was the Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2015.
The induction was very well organised for my programme. All training has been delivered well from the college and I have had support from my manager when it was required. I have meetings every 12 weeks with my apprentice manager to discuss my progress.
I receive as much support as I require from my training provider. I can contact my manager at any point for help and support. My manager and assessor are happy to help me where they can.
I receive as much support as I need from my employer. My apprentice manager and department manager are there to help if I need them. They are also happy to help me where they can. If I need any support regarding work I can go to the HR team.
My salary meets my travel and living costs. I travel to work by car as it is the easies way for me to travel to work. The location is good for travelling to/from work.
There are many opportunities to get involved in company events such as recruitment days and school visits. There is a local initiative to get more local school kids to apply for the apprenticeship scheme.
