  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a purchasing administration apprentice, so I essentially spent money for the business. I do most of the travel booking for the company. So, I book for stores who are covering other stores and travel head office colleagues for meetings and conferences. I also order stationary for head office as well as refreshments.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt lots of new skills including how to appropriately talk to different levels of people in a professional environment. As well as how to write emails correctly, answering the phones and managing the door for head office. I have also learnt how a business is run and what different components are needed for it to run smoothly.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am definitely enjoying this apprenticeship as it is a great blend of learning and working. The apprenticeship has given me more insight on how businesses run that I would not have gained if I had just got a regular job.

  • My programme is structured really well. I am able just to get on with my work and ask for help when needed.

  • My employer are very supportive with my apprenticeship they want me to do as well as possible

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider is very supportive, if ever I am stuck they are always there to help explain things in more detail or guide me with my learning.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification has helped be preform my role better as it has allowed for me to understand the business as a whole. It goes through the different components needed to run a business and it helps you see the bigger picture of the business much more clearly.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There have been many social events I have been to since starting here. These include or Christmas party, a trip to the races and the summer party is coming up. Its a nice way to speak to colleagues in a less formal setting.

  • Yes

  • They take care of their staff, they are there to help if you need anything.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pavers?
  • If you applied to this company I would say it is important to look at their values as a company and also their background. Pavers is a family run company who take their values very seriously.
