I am a purchasing administration apprentice, so I essentially spent money for the business. I do most of the travel booking for the company. So, I book for stores who are covering other stores and travel head office colleagues for meetings and conferences. I also order stationary for head office as well as refreshments.
I have learnt lots of new skills including how to appropriately talk to different levels of people in a professional environment. As well as how to write emails correctly, answering the phones and managing the door for head office. I have also learnt how a business is run and what different components are needed for it to run smoothly.
I am definitely enjoying this apprenticeship as it is a great blend of learning and working. The apprenticeship has given me more insight on how businesses run that I would not have gained if I had just got a regular job.
My programme is structured really well. I am able just to get on with my work and ask for help when needed.
My employer are very supportive with my apprenticeship they want me to do as well as possible
My training provider is very supportive, if ever I am stuck they are always there to help explain things in more detail or guide me with my learning.
My qualification has helped be preform my role better as it has allowed for me to understand the business as a whole. It goes through the different components needed to run a business and it helps you see the bigger picture of the business much more clearly.
There have been many social events I have been to since starting here. These include or Christmas party, a trip to the races and the summer party is coming up. Its a nice way to speak to colleagues in a less formal setting.
Yes
They take care of their staff, they are there to help if you need anything.
If you applied to this company I would say it is important to look at their values as a company and also their background. Pavers is a family run company who take their values very seriously.
