Business Administration role, extremely varied work. I work closely with Construction Managers dealing with landlord's consent for alterations within our properties. I work closely with the Partnerships team and our external partners including InstaVolt, conducting background checks from an Estates perspective to determine the most suitable sites for Co-op and InstaVolt. I help with both internal and external comms - I am Property Comms Champion for Estates and Acquisitions within Property and help run the Co-op Property LinkedIn page.
I have developed lots of existing skills including communication, teamwork, problem-solving, leadership and, reliability. Two skills which Co-op have really allowed me to develop is teamwork and communication. Within my apprenticeship I spent time with different teams within Property, meeting new people and learning about different roles.
I am really enjoying my apprenticeship programme with the Co-op and Damar. My line manager and the Co-op are really supportive in allowing me 20% off the job hours to complete my study work. I am considering doing a higher level apprenticeship with the Co-op after this Level 3 depending on how well this one goes!
The programme is very well structured and Co-op have provided me with enough experience to help demonstrate what is expected of me from my training provider. I have spent time with different teams within Property which allow me to meet new people and improve my understanding of Property as a whole.
The support I receive from my employer is great. I am given more than enough time to complete my apprenticeship work. My line manager is extremely supportive of my studies, we have regular meetings and discussions around and the challenges I am facing with my studies.
The support I receive from my training provider Damar is great. We have group coaching sessions for each module where I meet with the other apprentices and discuss topics we have learnt about during the pre-work and main learning sessions. My coach is really helpful in answering any questions I have.
The skills I have learnt through my qualification have definitely helped me in my role. Communication, leadership and teamwork are skills which I believe I have really developed whilst working towards my qualification. I am much more confident in the workplace and enjoy meeting new people.
There are lots of networking events for me to attend including Property conferences and Estate conferences. Co-op also work with networking companies such as Strive which are more networking events for me get involved in. I would like get involved with some more extra-curricular activities in work involving sports such as Football, I am not aware that the Co-op offer this however, the other activities they offer are great!
Yes
I would recommend Co-op to anyone who is looking for a place to work. Co-op offer lots of benefits including their hybrid working scheme, discounts on products/services and, a fantastic pension scheme. I am proud to say I work for the Co-op because we are focussed on making a difference, building a fairer world for our members.
Learn the culture, be proactive and ask lots of engaging questions to the interview to show your interested and don't be afraid to talk about you and why you are a good standout for the role.
