My role is overhead linesman which is working on the transmission pylons, anything from building them to refurbishing/rewiring.
Everything I have learned is all new to me but the 9 week training course I received at the start really give me a good starting block to life on site and learning new skills every day!
Everyday! My experience is 90% out of site with 2 week blocks at college. which means I’m learning everyday out on site.
Excellent, right from the first day you receive a calendar of everything you’re doing in the 3 years. From one day courses to your 2 week college block.
The support at Balfour Beatty is excellent. You always have somebody to turn to or call whether that’s out on site or in the office. Somebody is always there to answer any issues.
You receive great support.
It gives you the understanding of the details on how everything on the Grid works and performs.
I have been to numerous events put on from Balfour Beatty with the early careers team. From 4 day residentials to go karting as a social event in Inveraray.
