When i start work, i look for any jobs that need doing. This could involve preventative maintenance such as condition monitoring techniques. This may also involve fault finding on the ABB Robots or any other technology that may be used to help produce the body of the MINI. The day-to-day can vary.
I feel like i have learnt and developed new skills after joining the BMW Group. I spent the first year building my basic knowledge and skills such as Milling, Hand-Fitting Skills and Electrical work. Over my second year, i have put these skills and knowledge to more practical scenarios out in the factory.
I really enjoy my programme as it feel like every day is different to the last and that means that i am excited to come to work. Therefore, i can positively say that i do enjoy my programme and that i look forward to coming to work everyday and speaking to many different people as possible.
The structure of the programme is very well organised. I spend time in different areas, gaining knowledge and skills from more experienced workers which means that i am learning everyday. I know where i am going and what is expected from me which is what i should expect and what my managers should expect as well.
I receive good support from my employer. I feel that if i am in ever of need of assistance i can ask my manager from help or guidance. This can be in person, face-to-face, message or on a teams call. I feel like the support i get is satisfactory.
For my qualification's i have BMET College. BMET are great in providing support for getting these qualifications. If i need to stay later or go through something again because i didn't get it the first time they are more than happy to do this. I feel like i am achieving the top possible grades for my qualifications.
It is very important to learn new skills and knowledge and being able to apply these out in the factory is extremely important. I feel that i am more knowledgeable when it comes to getting stuck in with the task out on the shop floor and being able to do thi alone and having trust from my fellow colleagues is great as well.
There are many activities that Employees can get involved in such as charity teams that hold event such as a football tournament to raise money. There is also a newsletter team i which apprentices can give their ideas and thoughts which is published to the wider public within the BMW Organisation.
Yes
Bmw is a worldwide company that provides a stable job. It also provides life skills and collogues that makes the work i do very much enjoyable. I enjoy coming to work and i learn something new everyday. It is a great company and is exciting as no day is the same.
The only advice that i would give to someone applying to BMW is to go for it and dont miss your chance to do it.
