I am a maintenance apprentice, I apply myself in different engineering activities and use my knowledge and skills to try and understand issues in the production line.
Yes I have developed new skills and existing skills such as hand fitting, working with new tools, and also the electrical side of things has been a new thing for me and I am currently trying to develop more knowledge on this topic.
I do enjoy the programme here, the support side of things has been a massive help. If I have any issues there are many people to talk to. Overall I do enjoy working here at BMW Group
It is very organised with each yeah of the apprenticeship being different such as first year being able to develop new skills and second year out in the business lastly with third year being put in my final placement.
I receive a lot of support from my employer. Including supporting time off if needed in case of emergency, also if I have any troubles I can come and talk to them whenever.
The support from the training provider was poor in my opinion, there has been very little help. The changing of tutors has been tough on the whole year also.
I feel like the assignment side of things doesn’t help at all however the structured first year helps massively such as the hand fitting and electrical placements.
I would like to see stuff like that however I am not aware of any sporting clubs.
Yes
It is a great place to work and everyone is friendly and helpful there are also financial benefits such as the pension scheme.
I would apply again and take any opportunity gifted to you. It is easier to say no then yes however I would say yes to everything given.
