I oversee all the GNFR equipment we deliver to the new and existing stores for items such as canteen equipment, and the back-of-house A-Codes, like uniforms, toners, labels etc This includes sourcing, negotiating costs and lead times and placing orders. Managing the stock levels.
The course taught me the correct terminology when speaking to suppliers. It gave me confidence in negotiating prices and lead times and obtaining more value by applying economies of scale.
I enjoyed the program's format, and how we learned from textbooks and videos on the online portal, to study for each exam. Loved having the mentor on board to advise when needed.
It was very organised, from the online portal showing you each module and dates to be completed by. Regular check-ins with your mentor and structured Zoom calls for all-day classroom learning.
My line manager at the time supported me by attending calls with my mentor. He offered suggestions for how I could build my off-the-job learning. Gave me positive feedback that motivated me to keep going.
My mentor was fabulous, very supportive, and always offered suggestions for modules I may be stuck on. She gave me so much encouragement along the way and spurred me on.
It gave me the right tools to apply to a big part of my job and gave me more confidence.
Yes Poundland offers a wide choice of opportunities, from mud running, and marathons, they sponsor a local football team, so they offer the chance to watch a game and enjoy a meal. We have days out for team bonding.
