At Pearson I search for new talent to join our Customer Service team once we have recruited and onboarded talent I work with the Team to ensure that we retain the talent by working on engagement plans that keep the team engaged and motivated during their time at Pearson Education.
I am currently completing my 3rd apprentice since joining Pearson in September 2004, I have learnt and developed many new skills on my Pearson and Learning journey. My passion is to make Pearson an amazing place to work offering apprentices enables us to make this happen for Pearson Employees.
My programme is an challenging one for me but with the support of both Pearson and my training provider I will complete my EPA later this year. Knowing that I will have another qualification at the end of 2024 to support me and my colleagues helps me keep focus.
I have picked up lots of things along the way to keep me on track. My training provider & Pearson have kept me on track and the structure of the qualification is good. I intend to mentor any future candidates from Pearson who choose this course so that I can share.
My employer has been 110% supportive, there have been weeks and even moths where I have been too busy to study but there are also quieter periods where I have had the opportunity to catch up and use colleagues to help me achieve my goals.
My training provider have been very helpful with this qualification, I was apprehensive as I previously used them for another qualification and the experience this time has been a 100% improvement on the last experience - grateful for there support and guidance.
My qualification has changed the way I work with people, I am much more patient, I listen to hear and not to respond I pause a lot to allow others to speak and get their points and opinions across without interrupting - I approach conversations differently.
The apprentices in Manchester meet up regularly to share best practice and share our personal experiences we haven't yet formed a social group but this is definitely on the cards as we have a new intake of apprentices in June.

I have worked for Pearson for the last 20 years during which time I have completed 3 apprentices. I have nothing but positive feedback about Pearson and how they support an employee who is looking for a career for life.
As an entry level recruiter for Pearson my tips and advice are that this is a stepping stone into a life long career where Pearson will support you to learn and develop and achieve your career goals should you choose to make a career with this amazing organisation.
