I overhaul GEnx engines for GE Aerospace rotating through all parts of the process to understand the parts, processes and the people. I work with experienced mechanics to learn the job. I also do extra curricular activities such as STEM
I have developed extensive technical and meta skills through my training such as using hand tools and machinery as well improving my confidence and leadership skills
I really enjoy my programme as it is preparing me for life after my apprenticeship by giving the relevant skills that are required in the role I will be filling after my apprenticeship
I enjoy the structure of my programme as it can be flexible to suit the needs of the inidvidual, my business realises that it is not a one size fits all and this removes any feeling of uncertainty
I receive all the support I need from my employer across all aspects of my training journey, I have built up a good network of support even outwith my leadership team
I receive all the support I need from the training provider, both when I was at college and also through my quarterly review meetings with my assessor
my qualification is bespoke to the jobs I complete in my work which allows me to build up a bank of evidence of competence which leads to me becoming more confident in all aspects of my job
