  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My day-to-day role consists of assisting in the decontamination room, helping out the receptionists and assisting the clinicians in practice ,seeing a wide variety of patients , providing care within their best interests. Other roles that I do on occasion are helping putting back stock, and cleaning the premises.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Skills that i have developed since are: learning how to talk to patients from different backgrounds adapting the language used, as well as being able to maintain a friendly rapport with patients and work colleagues. As well as this it has widen my knowledge in medical and biological sciences.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I throughly enjoyed my programme as the team and support that you receive is immaculate, as they are always there to help you when you are finding part or your off-the-job or on-the-job training difficult.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme overall is very well organised, as you have a set lesson plans with workbooks to complete to help you to keep you on track until your reach your EPA for the best possible outcomes.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • From my employer they are always willing to provide support whether that would be extra time out of surgery to sit down with qualified nurses to help me understand a topic, or putting me into surgery with a dentist for a particular Tx that i’ve wanted to see.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • From my training provider the support has been wonderful. My assessor has always been more than willing to answer any questions that i have had or help when i have been struggling within my course.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It has helped me to perform better as they teach you the best ways to act professionally in the work environment, for every outcome to be the best one possible.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • On occasion our manager would offer pilate classes after work to just give everyone nice time together, and to just help maintain overall fitness. It also provides team bonding in particular, as you spend time with your colleagues outside of working hours.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The support that you get from the course providers and assessors is very helpful, and the overall course is very enjoyable and they make lessons entertaining and interactive which is far more enjoyable instead of staring at a computer screen watching the slides shows.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aspiration Training?
  • Advise that I would give to someone would be: don’t be afraid to make mistakes or ask questions, as there’s no such thing as a silly question, to have a positive outlook throughout the course, and to learn as much as possible to make the course enjoyable and more fun for you as the learner as you can never learn too much in dental nursing !
