Oversee the Transport department at depot from 6pm to 6am. Monitor incoming deliveries and organising the transport requirements for the depots daily deliveries. alongside this i coach and mentor the night team to help develop my team to improve our overall performance
The transport management cpc was great to achieve alongside my apprenticeship. I have learnt a lot in reference to the legal and health & safety requirements needed to fulfil my position. It also has helped me become more aware of how I can plan more effectively drivers working schedules
I have enjoyed being able to work at my own pace with the security of knowing that should I require and assistance it is available through my training provider. It has been an eye opener to how much I need to retain knowledge wise.
My only critique is that there have been topics and chapters in my course which could have been done before the transport management cpc which would have aided my learning alot more.
My line manager has been supportive and a good point to use as reference point with my learning. Due to the nature of my shifts most of support has come from arranged meetings after my shifts or email conversations
changed tutor a quarter of the way into course. Both tutors have been accessible when needed. Both have engaged on monthly training sessions we have together. regular feedback sessions have been helpful.
Its awoken me up to wider scope of knowledge and information that I need to obtain to be able to fulfil my role to level of confidence and assertiveness that others can believe in.
Any extra curricular activities have become quite sparse events in our depot specifically.
Yes
Feel they are very considerate as a company due to their social awareness policies. More importantly I feel there is plenty of opportunity to grow with the company professionally.
