In my role i look after children aged 1-4 providing an enabling learning environment and developing their skills and knowledge through play and adult led activities. As well as making sure they are clean , healthy and safe through out the day .
I’ve learned how to communicate unsung makaton , and how to provide the best learning experience for children. I’ve also learned the importance of early years and how it develop the children over all learning and growing to becoming an adult.
The programme is very enjoyable I’m loving the room I’m in at the moment ( baby room) and I’m able to further my learning out side the programme like I’m doing studying BSL to improve my communication to a wider community. I’m also enjoying my learning environment very one is helpful and knowledge able .
The organised/ structured on the programme wasn’t great at the start , i think it was abit rushed and not straight forward some areas did need more attention to such as smart assessor and English and maths. Extra support would have been nice for people with learning difficulties such as more time to complete a task/ assignment or even one to one personal studying. But on the other hand if i did have a question or help then I know i can ask for help and more information on a task or topic.
I do get support from my employer in the class and outside in the settings , with information given to me to further my understanding on the task or topic. And I’m free to answer questions “no questions is a dumb question” which i do like about my employer in the academy .
I receive a lot of training and resources from my training provider through email , PowerPoint text or conversation. It’s been very easy to follow when doing task and needing help.
My training at the academy helps me with knowledgeable, skills and activities i can implement in my settings as well to inform my pers or update them about things I've learnt in training.
We’ve visited the local market in my settings and social gatherings like going out to meals and activities to build relationships with the staff
