On a day to day basis I will assist the dentist with treatments and support patients. I also re-stock the surgery incase we are running low on materials/ equipment. I deep clean and sterilise equipment, along with bagging them up afterwards.
I have developed my communication skills a lot more during this apprenticeship, when talking to patients on the phone or in person.
I enjoy my programme a lot as they are very useful and helpful. If I'm struggling with my work, my assessors are quick to reply and give me lots of help. I find the work fairly easy however sometimes challenging. This doesn't bother me as it helps me to learn more.
I think the programme is very well organised. I can easily access my work and upload it with no problems. We use smart assessor, which is a very easy learning platform where I can find lots of my work on here and also learn lots of new knowledge.
I receive a lot of support off my employer. We have regular catch ups and she provides me with lots of knowledge.
I recieve lots of support, by having regular reviews on how my work progress is going. She provides me with lots of helpful and useful information to do with my qualification work.
I think my training provider helps me with my role, because we learn lots of key knowledge that we need to know to be able to do the job.
No, we don't do anything.
Yes
I would absolutely recommend Tempdent to others, because they support you so much during your apprenticeship. I think everything is structured to the best standard to help you best learn your role as a dental nurse. I think that the team help everyone well and give use easy and useful ways to learn.
Do not stress about the work you get given, because your assessor will support, guide and give you lots of ways to help. They can also extend your deadline to make it easier for you.
