  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I assisted the dentist during checkups and treatments as well as helping them throughout their day. I would keep on top of decontamination and sterilisation as well as the cleanliness of the clinical environment and the practice

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many new skills during my apprenticeship, like reception duties and skills during dental treatments. I have also developed my communication and time management skills

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Although i thoroughly enjoyed the job and learning new skills while doing my jobs, I found myself often getting very stressed during the theory side of the training programme as it was difficult to find the support when I was struggling

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I did not find the training programme very organised or structured as when I thought I was finished with my coursework, I was handed a lot more assignments which I was not aware I would be set, my assessor did not have very good communication with me.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer was extremely supportive and was always there when i needed help with anything, especially when I could not get in contact with my assessor.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • While i was working towards my qualification I found it extremely difficult to feel supported, it was always extremely difficult to get in contact with my assessor, she would not always explain everything very well and I felt as though she did not understand me enough when i was feeling stressed or overwhelmed. However the last 2 months of my qualification, while preparing for my last exam I had a different assessor who was a lot more supportive and gave me the help I needed.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel my training provider helped me perform better in my role as I had learnt a lot of theory and why certain treatments are carried out and the biology behind it

  • 9a. Would you recommend Tempdent – Dental Training Provider and Recruitment Agency to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Although I felt very stressed throughout my qualification, after finding an assessor who communicated well with me towards the end I felt a lot more at ease and less overwhelmed as I finally had the support I didn’t feel I had at the start with my first assessor. I have learned a lot during my course and the tutors on webinars would explain everything very thoroughly.
