  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role differs on a day to day basis, based on the placement I am in. This could be a customer facing role on the front line or collating data in order to drive big decisions for the business.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really do enjoy my programme - there is a large network of apprentices at TfL and apprentices are made to feel valued and welcome within the business. People are always eager to help us with developmental opportunities.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Lots of support - always given time to focus on your studies/ coursework. I haven’t seen this with my friends doing apprenticeships at other companies but TfL are very accommodating.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Lots of support - TfL are very flexible when it comes supporting a healthy work- life balance for their apprentices.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification itself provides us with a holistic view of the business side of things. Studying towards a business management degree, sometimes depending on the team/ placement you are in there is some overlap. It allows you to present viable solutions to any business issues faced within your team based on the theory you have studied.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

  • 9a. Would you recommend Transport for London to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • The benefits, the support, the work environment and opportunities available are all unmatched. I’ve yet to hear anything on par with TfL when it comes to my friends who are completing apprenticeships at other companies.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Transport for London?
  • Research the company well, look at the business plan, the business strategy, the values and visions. Think about your motivations for applying to the company, why the specific apprenticeship role and learn to think from different perspectives. Reach out to apprentices on LinkedIn and ask them about their experiences, come to our apprenticeship/career’s fairs, take initiative :)
