The project control discipline is about providing the project manager with all of the relevant quantitative information about ta given project to enable them to make effective decisions, my role is about compiling all of that data and presenting it to the project management team.
I have learnt a great deal of new skills such as maths and English skills, public speaking skills, active listening, resilience, leadership, team working skills and excel skills.
I thoroughly enjoy my programme, it constantly is challenging me and developing my skill set, furthermore, the company its self is caring and compassionate and caters to all of my employment needs and I find the current role I'm in to be very fulfilling.
My programme is highly organised, I complete 5 one year placements in different areas of the business and alongside this attend university once a week and have four internal reviews a year to track my progress in displaying the BAE systems company values and have targets set to foster development.
I receive a high level of support from my line manger, from the early careers team at work and from my university lecturers who ensure that I am comfortable and able to work to the best of my abilities.
I receive a good level of support from the university who alongside lectures are always on hand to provide support in a 1 to 1 setting or in other ways.
The qualification I will receive is highly useful in my role as a project controller as it provides me with an understanding of the theory behind the project control discipline which give me a greater level of understanding about my role.
There are a wealth of extra-curricular activities for me to take part in such as team socials, sports teams and even a choir.
Yes
BAE Systems is one of the most brilliant companies in the UK if not globally, I feel completely honoured to call my self an employee of this company and believe that It provides a person with a wealth of opportunities to better themselves and allows any person to thrive as a professional. I could not imagine a better place to work than here and I would highly, highly recommend this company to anyone.
It is important to develop your personality with clubs and experiences to make yourself stand out as a candidate, I also recommend having a part time job or completing work experience to increase your employability and it never hurts to research the company and get enthused about what we as a business do.
