Typical activities during my working week include preparing for meetings, liaising with various internal and external stakeholders, delivering presentations and reporting on project progress.
I have developed my self-confidence by regularly presenting project updates to various stakeholders. I have also developed my leadership and teamworking skills due to the dynamic nature of the projects which I am involved with.
I thoroughly enjoy my degree apprenticeship and cannot recommend the scheme and company enough. There are a lot of opportunities for career progression within the company and I feel well supported to achieve my goals.
My degree apprenticeship is very well structured; in term-time I work on my placement four days a week and attend university one day a week.
Apprentices have regular wellbeing and progress reviews with our managers to enable us to understand how we are progressing and to be able to ask for support if required. I would say I feel very well supported whilst working for my employer.
I also receive great levels of support from my training provider (The University of Cumbria) to work towards the completion of my degree. For example, if I ever require additional help on an assignment there are various ways I can obtain this, such as emailing a tutor.
I am frequently able to draw links between my workplace tasks and university studies. This has enabled me to have a greater understanding of both elements and therefore be able to perform better on both sides.
I have been fortunate enough to attend a professional body conference, where I was able to network with other individuals who work within the same function of project management. The company also frequently offers opportunities for other extra-curricular activities which are available, dependant on personal interests and aspirations.
