  • I am a regional project consultant, I work on improving the recruitment processes and supporting our recruitment teams in regions

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Learnt more about Employment Law during my People Professional Level 5 apprenticeship, also I have learnt many analysis techniques and how best to use them

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am enjoy the programme and the learning I am gaining from it. I have catch ups with my tutor every 8 - 12 weeks to ensure I'm progressing

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I have had to chase for schemes of work and documents, and we struggled to have the correct content taught due to different tutors, but I feel the organisation is getting better now. I now know my workshops for the rest of the year so can plan around them

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My organisation has been very supportive and lets me be involved in projects relating to my apprenticeship. Also, I have monthly catch ups with my Line Manager where my apprenticeship is discussed.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • So far I haven't had to resubmit any assignments, so haven't needed support on these. I think it has become more structured now, to start with there was confusion on how to meet the duties and they have changed the off the hours log to be just knowledge

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Helps me have a broader HR knowledge, in areas that I might not get involved in e.g. training and Employment Law. This helps my knowledge when working with these teams during my projects.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Lidl has a social events committee and often has events that you can get involved it, invites are sent and you can join when you are available (for example sip and paint). Also, we are often sent awards and networking meetings that we can attend/ have tickets for (for example Rec Fest)

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • You will always be busy and the workload will always be varied, no two days are the same. You are given autonomy in your role and Lidl will always support your development.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lidl?
  • Be yourself and research the role you are applying for. We are a very large company, so knowing the role ensures you are picking the right one for you. Also, use LinkedIn to connect with employees who will post about their role
