It depends on the time of your shift as to what you'd be doing. Mornings and late evenings your will be ticking off and putting out the delivery. Throughout the day you could be doing numerous tasks like: till, working back-stock, carding etc.
I have become more confident as a person from working at Aldi and learnt a lot of new skills e.g. working a till and interacting with customers. Id usually shy away from tasks I didn't know how to do but, you cant do that here as they through you in at the deep end and, this process has made me a more well rounded individual.
The programme is enjoyable because the course tests your knowledge and makes sure your know everything you should know as a store assistant. Its got a nice balance between practical and theoretical assessments which are both quite quick to complete.
Everyone is important at Aldi and everyone is really friendly which makes the working environment a lot more positive. Aldi reward you for your hard work, I received a gift voucher for 100% customer service which gives an incentive to work harder.
Its divided into different units for particular topics. Their are two sections, practical (where your assessor observers you doing a task) and theory (which tests your on your knowledge).
Initially I had a bit but when we made arrangements she was inconsistent with turning up. My manager has now changed my training provider so hopefully this one will be better.
Any question or query I have I'm not afraid to ask and were a team at Aldi so teamwork is essential. If you do a well with a task management, are good at praising your work.
Aldi pay really well considering its an apprenticeship and I've already had two pay rises in under a year. Couldn't ask for more.
I know my colleagues make arrangements to meet up outside of work and theirs usually a Christmas gathering, either a meal, bowling or laser quest etc.
