My job is to ensure that young people in Merton can have their say on matters that are important to them. Whether that's enabling them to be part of high-level community projects, writing letters to/interviewing senior decision makers, or creating a mega-survey for the whole borough, our mission is that no voice goes unheard.
I've learnt SO many new skills here! Most notably my QWC (quality of written communication) - I always thought I was pretty good in this area, but since being at Merton I've noticed my skillset increase 10 fold! I love my role here and I get so much joy from my work!
I love my apprenticeship! I am very lucky to have such a kind, patient and knowledgeable course tutor [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions]. He is quick to respond, always offering a fresh perspective on matters, and is always the voice of positivity when I am finding things challenging. He is a credit MBKB
It's brilliant. We have tutorials (both in our tutor groups, and 1-1) every month, which works well with my workload. I love our group tutorials, Andy makes them fun and engaging, and is always coming up with creative games/exercises to ease us into our next module.
More than I could ask for! My line manager [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is fab; he is there for me whenever I need him, always makes time to come to my quarterly progress reviews and gives me the time and space I need to work on my studies.
Lots! I'm around three months away from taking my first mock, and MBKB have given me lots of helpful exam prep sessions, training docs and [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is very approachable if ever I need support.
My qualification gives me a deeper, theoretical understanding of the principles that I put into practice in my day-to-day role. For example, I have learnt much more about stakeholder engagement, which has hugely helped my engagement work in my role.
Yes! There is a walking club on Tuesday lunchtimes.
Yes
It's the best! I have always lived in Merton, so I feel very lucky that I'm now able to give back to my community :)
Be yourself, bring the good vibes and positive energy!
