  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Everyday looks different, some days I am facing clients and preparing for meetings and other days I am with the team on office day. Everyday, involves learning new things and speaking to new people. In a week you can work flexibly and may be on client site, in the office or working from home.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • You will learn many new skills from people skills and increasing your own confidence, to developing the skills you learn in university. As you progress you will see what you learn in university really help in day to day life at PwC.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I believe that the flying start programme is a very good programme. It is difficult but definitely rewarding. Because it is challenging it makes everyday different and enjoyable.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The uni side of the degree is very structured, with attending uni for some part of the year and then you attend placement at PwC for a set amount of time. This means you know exactly when you are at uni and placement which produces a very organised and structured degree.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • You receive a lot of support as you have a career coach and a buddy. All of which are always on hand to help out and answer any questions you may have. Your managers and seniors are also always on hand to answer questions. Whilst also still having the support from uni.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • You receive a lot of support while at uni through receiving all the materials you need for free and also through lectures, workshops and office hours. University also support you while you are on placement and will always be on hand if you need help.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It helps as you can put into practice what you learn at university and put it into practice at work. Learning all of this helps further develop what you learnt in university too, as while on placement you even learn about a wider range of topics and areas.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many socials and even one firm one day which you can get involved in. This means that there are always things at work for you get involved in. There are also many different events that are on during the year at the office.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I believe it is a very supportive environment to work with and such a good way to get involved with the day to day life of an auditor and learn everything you learn at university into practice.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • When applying to PwC you first have to apply to university that offers the programme, you should always be yourself.
