  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • To take joint responsibility for the effective operation and delivery of the business plan for the Home, in conjunction with the Home Manager & management team and to take full responsibility for ensuring high standards of professional practice in all interactions with our prospective customers, family members and residents. Joint responsibility with the management team for the day-to-day management of the home to exceed CQC and expected group standards. Joint responsibility in ensuring business continuity through full bed state, including managing enquiries and liaising with prospective customers & new admissions. Liaise with families and residents during the admission process and for a period of one month after admission to be a point of contact for concerns and updates. Joint responsibility with the home management team for overseeing the staffing rota to ensure it meets budget. To ensure that the premises are at a high physical standard, fit for purpose and meet all legislative requirements at all times.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt more about safeguarding and raising safeguards. I am continuing to learn about academic writing and the process of writing this way

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme immensely. It has allowed me to reflect on my practices and the way I analyse myself and my workload.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well organised. It is run through a system called Bud. This allows me to log in and see the work that has been assigned, work on them and submit as I complete the work load.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive regular support from my employer and they were very welcoming in me completing the level 5 diploma.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The support network at Paragon and everyone connected to Paragon are kind, friendly, warm, welcoming of questions and just so very helpful.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It enables me to have a much vaster knowledge and subsequently support more of my peers in day to day tasks within the care home.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We arrange events, especially near Christmas where the team go out together and enjoy an evening out, along with a meal and entertainment.
