My current role involves the demand planning for the local line of business. This involves dicussing the demand requirements of the business and communicating this out to the wider business and functions.
During this role working in a geographicaly dispersed team I've developed my long distance communicating, the things that work and those that don't so much. Also developed more of a customer focus being co-located with the customer.
The programme is very challenging which keeps me on my toes and allows me to be always learning new things that will help with my future career.
Certain aspects of the business help you feel valued, the line manager. However further up the company it comes across that the workforce is a disposable means to an end.
The programme is very well structured with different placements being assigned to ensure that all the apprenticeship competencies are able to be signed of by using role profiles.
They provide just enough support to get by however there is a lot of conflict the the classroom that means it is not a positive learning environment. There does not seem to be an overall plan for the programme it is being firefighted constantly.
I feel I'm able to speak to the management of the programme with anything that needs discussing. Although the team who run the programme do seem overstreached and need reminding to do things some times.
The salary is very good compared to other progammes like it. However when going on placements throughout the country the management team do not seem to believe that people on the programme deserve the same as other employees.
There are lots of opportunities to do charity work outside of the day job, these opportunities are very well publised over the company intranet.
Yes
Due to the great salary package and the wrldwide opportunities for work.
Understand what the company does (its products and services) and where it is planning (new developments)to go but also what you personally want to get out of the job.
