My role as a security officer has a wide range of activities and responsibilities that can vary on a daily and even hourly basis. I am required to assist in the rostering of the security team, the ordering of resources, liaising with stakeholders, both for my employers and the client.
The difference between the person I was before this experience and programme, and the person I am today is vast and almost the equivalent to looking at two completely different people. I now have the tools and skillsets to achieve goals and targets previously beyond my reach. I am also able to utilise these in my daily routines.
I entered the programme with some nerves, these were quickly allayed on day one. The programme provider quickly established a friendly, nurturing, and supportive environment. Every step was refreshing and engaging. I loved the participating nature of the programmes delivery. This was enhanced further by the inclusivity from trainer to participant.
The apprenticeship was laid out from day one, with a structured and well thought out programme, with each step a move forward from the previous one. This meant that there was a constant and continual flow throughout. Helped further by the reflection statements to allow everyone to show their progress.
I was aware and able to draw on the support from my employer. This was not only restricted to my Line Manager and appointed sponsor, but extended out to Managers and colleagues across the business. This included a network built with other participants in the programme, as a support tool.
The support I received from Learnmore was invaluable and consistently excellent. It was delivered in a nurturing and motivational fashion, with tips and tools offered to give me the best opportunity to succeed. My Learnmore coach was beyond anything I expected and an asset to my success on the programme.
The tools and skills that I now have, enable me to plan and structure my day and duties to optimise both mine and my teams performance. I have, through earning the qualification, found a new confidence and understanding for the role I currently fulfil, and has given me drive and ambition to progress and enhance my career.
There are various fundraising and family based events ran via the client that I am always eager to lend a hand with, and often volunteer my services. Throughout the programme, I made some great connections with other participants, using supportive social media platforms. We continue this and plan a reunion soon.
