I currently work with Mitie Security as a guard in one of the Sainsbury branch. My role is to ensure the safety of lives and property within the store, as well as the protection of goods to avoid theft,
I have learnt new skills as well as improve on my existing skills. I have learnt a lot on how to deescalate and defuse some very tensed situations within my store, learnt how to keep my emotions in check even when provoked.
It is a great experience, learning new things everyday, meeting all kinds of people as well. Been able to contribute my quota to what is making an impact on people positively.
I would say its well organised as you have individuals you can approach for guidance and support when needed.
I receive great support from my managers, especially my line manager who is always available to guide and support me whenever i call on him.
I received a great support from my providers. She was of great support, guiding and encouraging me during difficult periods. She was always there to listen and give her honest feedback. A great coach and mentor.
My qualification through my provider has helped me in dealing with certain situations at work that i would have found a bit difficult to handle. There were some activities i learnt during the programme that i use today when dealing with certain situations.
There are no extra-curricular activities involved at my work. It will be great to have them to enable team members get together outside of work pressure.
Yes
Mitie is a great place to work. They take care of their staffs and there is a lot of support from the managers, even when dealing with your personal issues.
