Working in Screwfix, we as staff play a crucial role in ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience. I greet customers and assist them in finding what they may be looking for. I also handle transactions at the checkout, restock shelves and help maintain the stores organisation standards.
I have definitely grew more confident since working in Screwfix, whether that be self confidence or confidence with building customer relationships. I have gained a large amount of product knowledge, helping me with my day to day tasks, especially when serving customers at the tills.
So far, I am thoroughly enjoying my programme. I wish to better my knowledge and understanding of my job role and I believe this programme is already starting to help me gain that knowledge. I feel supported and know that I can always ask for help if I may need it.
When I first started the programme I had a few problems with my working hours so therefore that did cause complications with my programme to begin with. Now that we are back on track everything seems to be running smoothly and I have been provided with a programme plan to ensure that I have a list of any upcoming work.
I receive so much support from my employer. They have been extremely helpful with allowing me to complete my core skills tasks alongside them to offer their support if I may need it. They always allow me time to ask questions no matter how big or small to ensure that I am completing tasks appropriately and to the correct standards.
My Training provider and I have so far only attended two teams meetings but so far she has helped me with any questions or queries that I have had with the programme and has been quick to respond if I ever needed any assistance.
I believe that my training programme is helping me become more focused and more confident in myself when in the workplace. It has opened me up to so many more opportunities already, with learning new skills and to stop doubting myself in work situations.
As a store, all of the staff in Ormskirk are really close inside the workplace as well as outside. We try to get together fairly frequently outside of work to enjoy ourselves, which I believe is what makes us so close as a team.
Yes
I would recommend Screwfix to a friend as I know any store they may enter will provide them with the same service and standards as we do in our store. I know they will always be greeted and helpedin any way possible to ensure a positive shopping experience.
Be yourself! Customer service and job roles can be taught to anybody but a good personality cannot be. It is so important to just be you and to not stress that you may not know the same as everybody else in the store because it will all come in time. Screwfix is a supportive company and they will help you in any way that you may need.
