My role entails supporting and assessing learners who work in the Care industry to work towards their level 2 and level 3 apprenticeships. I also support them with achieving their functional skills and support with End Point Assessments.
I have been able to refresh my knowledge in my role and I have learnt how to make my training more engaging.
After a change in assessors and not really knowing what was happening with my course at the beginning, I feel like I am more aware of what I need to do and my assessor, Zoe, is brilliant. She's very approachable and makes our training session fun and engaging.
There wasn't any structure to the course when I first started as I had no planner or assessments set which I feel has affected my progress, however, I feel that there is structure after has taken over as my new assessor.
My employer is very supportive however I am struggling to find the time to complete my work in works time.
I am happy with the support now that I know who my assessor is, and so far, has been brilliant.
It definitely gets me thinking about how I do things in my role and how I train my learners. I have been able to use some techniques that my trainer has used in our sessions to make them more engaging.

Realise are great and passionate about developing their learners and staff. I have found that everyone I have spoken to are supportive and approachable which makes a huge difference when lacking confidence.
To take each day at a time. Learning can be overwhelming, especially when you haven't done a course in a long time, but it's a great learning opportunity.
