I am a technical apprentice this means that day to day I assist in the technical aspects of the buisiness, this changes day to day, from testing product to soldering to writing reports.
I have become a certified J-standard solderer during my time, but have also developed skills based on electronics; my knowledge of electronics has vastly improved, as has my IT slills
I enjoy my programme very much, BAE Systems is a great place to work, I have varied tasks to complete and the amount of responsibility i am given is great
I feel like a valued member of the company, the team i currently work within and the teams i have worked with in the past make me feel important as do the company as a whole
My programme is extreamley well structured, I am aware of every aspect of the programme and how to complete each part. there is no end of help if it is required also.
I receive all the support that I need from the training provider, I have regular reveiw meetings aimed at checking my progress and dealing with any problems i may have.
My employer provides great support, as above I have dedicated meetings with my employer on how they can help integrate my learning with the other aspects of my apprenticeship and working at the same time.
My salary is good for an apprenticeship with structured increases set out at the beginning of the employment, there are also opportunities and schemes in place to earn more.
there are plenty of oppurtunities outside of work, this is due to schemes set up to improve relations between employees, there is plenty to get involved with outside of work, i play badminton with some guys from the office as one example
Yes
BAE Systems is a great company to work for, there structure for the development of apprentices is great and they are always looking out for ways to imporve and help us, as well as providing great employment options.
When applying make sure you read all the applications correctly, as it's important you apply for what you think is best and that you give all the correct information, the process is simple as BAE Systems guide you through most of it, brush up on what the company is and what we do and when it comes to interviews, be yourself.
