  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is an accounts assistant. On a daily basis I deal with payments coming into our banks and allocating these to our customer accounts we hold. I also deal with daily cheques and chargeback letters we receieve.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, I have improved my communication skills, my team working skills have improved after working within a team on a daily basis. My decision making skills have improved with having to make key decisions daily.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the work I do within my role at 1st Locate, working with my team members daily when different problems may occur, taking on more responsibility as time goes by and also learning more about my company and how we fit into society.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is well organised, meetings with my tutor were always organised weeks in advance, work I got set i was always allowed time to be able to complete this fully and to the highest level.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A lot, if I ever was struggling with work based tasks from my apprenticeship my manager was always on hand and key to help me with any questions I may had, he was always helpful and guided me into the right direction if I struggled.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My tutor was helpful throughout my apprenticeship, she was always happy to answer any questions I might've had. Was always keen to give me feedback around my work to make sure I was continually improving throughout,

  • Very well. The key skills I've improved upon throughout including communication, team work and decision making has helped me throughout in my role and to become more confident within my team and at a workplace.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, as a company we have Christmas parties, we have a summer ball event to get the whole company together and we also offer charitable activities outside of working hours.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • First Locate is a friendly company, when I first joined I was nervous but my team and the company as a whole made me feel welcome and helped me settle in immediately.

  • Not sure.
