My role is a Project Controller on a contract we hold with the Austrian Airforce. My role involves numerous things daily from interacting with the customer, tracking forecast vs actual spend and monitoring risks.
I have learnt and developed a range of new skills including: confidence, professionalism, inderpendance, initative and time management.
I thoroughly enjoy not only my job role but my programme as a whole including college, training and the people i am involved with
Extremely valued. I beleieve BAE help out wherever they can in investing their time and money into indivuals in order to develop themselves. For example as part of my foundation degree we were required, in a team, to run a project from start to finish. My team decided to do a site to site walk from our Warton-Samlesbury base or vise versa. Even though this was part of our degree, BAE helped make our project a success through advertisement, support and allowing employees to take part.
I think on the whole it is extremely organised and structured as there is a clear framework for what we do over the five years. The only thing that could be more structured is the pay aspect as it is sometimes confusing where we are meant to be.
Our training provider is blackpool and fylde university. I think they do provide alot of support and we can go to them to ask for help whenever, however i do think they have the usual university approach and promote independent learning.
As a whole BAE provide a lot of support, they do this by providing a range of training course to allow us to develop as well as providing points of contact for if we are at all stuck.
For the age of 19 i believe i am on a great amount of money, especially being an apprentice.
Yes, BAE are always promoting things which we can get involved with and will support you in doing so.
Yes
I really enjoy working for BAE, being part of the community within it and knowing i have a good career ahead because of working here.
Take the time to research the company and fill the application process out to the best of your ability. It takes time but is worth it as they only accept the best.
