Looking after the day to day needs of my team, providing updated training and information, to help them within their job role. As well has helping team members with things that happen in their personal lives, that have an impact on their work. Signposting to the relevant support, offered by our company.
I have learnt about different processes that can help me to help my team, as well as different models to aid this.
I have enjoyed the process mostly, but at times I have questioned some of the relevance that some of the content has to my specific role. I realised that some tasks just needed adapting to my role specifically.
The programme is well structed with workshops scheduled in advance, so that they can be incorporated into your working diary. Half way through my programme the learning platform was changed, which caused some issues with accessing tasks, but this was soon overcome.
My employer is very supportive, encouraging me to take the time needed out of my working day or week. When having one-to-one catch ups with my line manager, they would always ask how things were going and offer any advice or support where they were able to.
During the programme regular teams calls and 'Surgery' days were planned. The teams call would be a one-to-one with my learning coach, who offered support and advice, for where I was in the programme. The surgery days were very similar, but these were an in-person meet up, where fellow apprentices would attend. From these meetings you can discuss your progress with others and your learning coach.
As I do not already have a degree, this qualification will give me a higher level educational qualification to add to my CV, which will help with my continued career development. The introduction to new ways of working through different models has given me a different prospective to approaching situations that can arise in my day to day working.
My company has many different groups an employee can join, from a choir to cultural groups. Everyone is welcome to join, if they have an interest in the particular group(s). The company supports fund raising events from bake sales to charity football matches.
