Currently I spend a quarter my time perform simulated tasks in a controlled environment and spend the other doing written work, such as K questions and writeups in order to use as Evidence.
Ive learnt a lot of new skills during the first two years of my apprenticeship but as im coming to the end of my Unit 2, i have learnt very little in the past few months.
I enjoy the practical side of the job, however the theory based side is very unorganised and unclear as to what is required, there is also a lot of theory work that feels unnecessary and useless which dramatically brings down the enjoyment of my course.
its not very organised, it feels chaotic and unorganised and leaves me and many others feeling confused and frustrated. I have suffered countless delays with getting work signed off and submitted as well as having severe delays in waiting for simulated tasks to become available.
I receive a lot of support from my employer, however when feedback is provided it feels as if it goes no where.
when getting help with practical work the support is really good and the training providers are really helpful. However when it comes to getting paperwork signed off or getting simulated tasks provided, there is little support and often leads to delays
I feel that eventually the course will give me the skills I need.

I would recommend the company as its a good company to work for. However i would not recommend the Mechatronics Maintenance course.
I would recommend applying for one of the singular trade apprenticeships, such as C&I Maintenance, Electrical Maintenance and Mechanical Maintenance. I would not recommended the Mechatronics Maintenance Apprenticeship.
