On a day to day basis I complete the syllabus of tasks that are given to me which involves schematic entry, rapid prototyping circuits and completing admin work. We do soldering and complete college work if we ask.
Yes, I have learned how to solder and learned many skills in college and at work, these skills also include, protoboard, breadboard, circuit theory, schematic entry, PCB layout.
I enjoy my job as learning these new skills are very rewarding.
My program has a set structure (syllabus) so I would say that it is very organised
I received a lot of support at the start of my apprenticeship but since new apprentices have joined there is not enough instructors to cope with the amount of apprentices and support is now minimal.
We receive minimal support for college work also although we can ask to do college work at work if we have permission.
Getting a degree will absolutely help me perform better in my role.
There are many extra-curricular activities to partake in at work, social activities, sports, learning, teaching and networking.
Yes
I would recommend AWE to a friend as the program is very organised and you will learn a lot of valuable skills.
You should ensure your prior knowledge of physics, maths and circuit theory are good before joining as it will help you a lot.
