To undertake a range of clerical duties within the Central Ticket Office including all aspects of the Fixed Penalty System, Camera Detected Offences and Vehicle Diversionary Schemes. To interrogate Force computer systems i.e. PNC, Command & Control, PENTIP, CONNECT, CRASH, PRONTO to create update and check information to identify offenders in order to produce, print and serve notices in accordance with Force policy and legislation.
I have developed communication skills, IT skills, professional skills, Team working skills and remaining professional at all times. These skills have all been improved and developed upon throughout my apprenticeship. Largely thanks to me and my Tutor identifying ways to improve these. For example, for the communication development I participated in a public engagement event, door to door enquiries and answering in person enquiries in regard to Notices that the public have received.
On the whole I generally find the apprenticeship beneficial. However, I did find the 3-hour teaching sessions unnecessary as mentioned to my tutor. These sessions can easily be completed within 2 hours plus no student realistically focuses on a lesson for that long. I also find the wellbeing tasks irritating as they largely feel like a complete and utter time waste. Aside from these small gripes I don't have any other issues.
This course is structured well lessons are planned in advance. Meetings with my tutor are also organized in good time.
My employer is very supportive and accommodates my needs whenever it's necessary. Be that allowing me to work from home or providing headphones.
I've received ample support. My tutor has monthly meetings with me to ascertain any problems and how I'm doing in general.
This qualification is largely beneficial to improving key skills such as communication skills, IT skills, professional skills, Team working skills and remaining professional. However, due to not being a conventional business some aspects of the course are difficult to apply to my role.
